Germany and Thailand establish energy dialogue

Germany and Thailand officially launched a bilateral energy dialogue on 19 March 2025 as part of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD). The signed Declaration of Intent lays the foundation for deeper cooperation on key future issues such as the decarbonisation of energy systems and industry, increasing energy efficiency and expanding renewable energies.

The dialogue focuses on initiating concrete projects and creating business and cooperation opportunities for companies in both countries through political consultations, joint workshops, specialist conferences and the establishment of energy efficiency networks in Thailand. The new cooperation is part of the German energy partnerships and underlines the joint commitment of both countries to a sustainable and climate-friendly energy future. The project is supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
